Genie MontBlanc is a research analyst with the University Center for Economic Development University of Nevada. Her research interests include rural development, the valuation of natural resources and incentivizing markets to develop sustainable practices. Recent work has included surveying Nevada hunters to better understand the value of Nevada wildlife habitat, and web development projects to increase access to information for small businesses. Genie received her bachelor's in biology from, San Francisco State University; a masters biology from the University of Nevada Reno, and an masters in resource economics from the University of Nevada, Reno.
